GRAND RAPIDS (Mich.) – Appropos, a Grand Rapids tech company that has developed a groundbreaking global wholesale business-to-business (B2B) platform, today announced expanded support for Europe to handle rapid adoption and growth of its Envoy platform. Envoy’s support operation in Europe will be based in Munich, Germany, to serve the expanding global business for one of its manufacturing partners.

“We’re truly excited to expand and deepen our support to Europe and grateful to our business partners, who include some of the world’s leading footwear and apparel makers, for recognizing how Appropos can truly help them grow rapidly, strategically and proactively,” said Appropos President and Co-Founder Jon Faber. “Our Envoy platform vastly increases the speed of sale, giving businesses a definitive edge in today’s global marketplace. Our technology, we believe, can show companies that when they grow their business-to-business segment, they’ll also grow their business-to-consumer market – and that’s the key for businesses looking to expand, compete and succeed.”

Appropos employee Steve Dabbs will serve as the company’s on-the-ground staffer responsible for training European sales staff, trouble-shooting, and providing daily phone and email support. Appropos and Dabbs moved the company’s European support operations to Munich in late summer to better serve clients in multiple countries and announced the official launch today.

Three years in the making, Appropos’ Envoy platform, designed as an iPad app and a responsive Web Application, allows sales reps and retailers to place orders, check inventory in real time, create line sheets, display product in 360-degrees, and more.

One of the reasons the Envoy platform is growing in Europe and elsewhere is that it uses a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, unlike the traditional back-office utility model. This means clients get more than just the software. Hosting, upgrades, integration, implementation, training and rollout are all part of a single package. The result is faster, more strategic sales between manufacturer and retailer. Conventional business-to-business interactions often still include hand-written orders, made over a phone or fax. Where these outmoded transactions can take hours, the Envoy platform empowers businesses to complete highly accurate, complex orders within just a few minutes.

“Envoy is a strategy for manufacturers to become more efficient, more productive and more successful,” Faber said. “Unlike add-on business-to-business programs that are like individual utility tools in a tool box, Envoy is an entire Swiss Army knife that has tools for everyone on your team.”

Other advantages of the Envoy platform, in addition to enabling faster sales and global synchronization, include streamlining invoicing, improving account management and easing payment options.
